It has been a pleasure to meet many of you during the IBC conference last week...
One of my conclusions: the DTV middleware business is broken... Let's face it, in most of the cases, being a provider of TV middleware or interactive apps only is not a sustainable business anymore... No way to secure any respectable margin in the long run... My only hope is that the industry will acknowledge the need for broad standard... And NO, web technologies and open Internet alone are definitively not the good fit for the next-gen tv platform...
